The Second
Formation™

KEVIN & TONY

People before roles.
Listening before advice.

We created The Second Formation because we kept meeting thoughtful people who wanted time to consider their lives in good company.

Kevin C. Murphy

FOUNDER & LEAD FACILITATOR

Kevin C. Murphy, Psy.D.

Kevin is a licensed clinical psychologist, executive advisor, and educator with more than three decades of experience working with leaders, professionals, clergy, and organizations.

His work has repeatedly brought him close to the person behind the role: the questions they carry, the responsibilities they have absorbed, and the parts of life that still ask for attention.

Kevin guides the reflective conversations and formation process. He brings psychological understanding, careful listening, and a warm sense of humor.

Away from formal work, Murph’s Garage is a place for carpentry, new projects, and conversations about life.

Tony brings more than three decades of executive leadership experience across healthcare, pharmaceutical, and technology organizations.

He understands the demands of responsibility and the personal questions that can accompany professional success. His own experience of transition helped inspire The Second Formation.

Tony shapes a welcoming, well-organized environment in which people can settle in, connect, and take part fully.

At Tony’s Table, coffee, food, and conversation are natural ways of bringing people together.

OUR STARTING POINT

Your life is worth
paying attention to.

We offer time, thoughtful questions, and attentive company.
You remain the author of the choices that follow.

What we mean by formation.

Life shapes us through relationships, responsibilities, achievements, disappointments, and unexpected turns. Formation means paying attention to that shaping—and considering how we want to live from here.

The “second” formation names an opportunity in adult life: to step back, understand what our experience has formed in us, and participate more consciously in what comes next.

The work makes room for the whole person: work and family, loss and possibility, meaning and enjoyment.

You can begin with a question.

Tell us a little about what has brought you here. We’ll explore together whether this is a good fit for this season of your life.
