YOUR QUESTIONS

A few things you
may be wondering.

A meaningful decision deserves clear information. Here are answers to the questions people often bring to their first conversation.

Is this for people who are retired?

Retirement can be a meaningful time for this work, but it is not a requirement. Participants may still be working, leading, raising families, caring for others, or entering a transition.

Do I need to be dissatisfied with my life?

No. You may value the life you have and simply want more time to understand it. Curiosity is a sufficient starting point.

Is this therapy or executive coaching?

The Second Formation is a guided experience of reflection, conversation, and personal understanding. It is not a psychotherapy service or a performance-coaching engagement. An introductory conversation helps clarify the kind of support you are seeking.

How much time should I allow?

The cohort runs for ten weeks, with a two-day opening retreat, weekly 90-minute Zoom gatherings, and a half-day closing. Plan for about 20–30 minutes of reflection each week, plus preparation before the opening retreat. Ask for the full schedule before committing.

How much will I need to share?

You decide what you are ready to share. Listening matters too. You are invited to participate honestly and respectfully, without needing a polished story or a prepared answer.

How is privacy handled?

Participants are asked to protect the privacy of others and keep personal stories within the group. We discuss confidentiality guidelines before participation so expectations are understood.

Do I need to be a good writer?

No. The journal is a place to think in your own words. Short notes, fragments, and simple observations can be enough. Your writing is not graded.

Is there a required religious perspective?

Questions of faith, meaning, and spiritual life may be part of your story. You are welcome to ask Kevin and Tony how those questions are approached and discuss what would help you feel comfortable in the group.

What are the dates, location, and fee?

Contact us for current cohort details, including retreat location, the full schedule, participation fee, and any travel or lodging arrangements. Review these together before deciding to participate.

Can I work privately with Kevin?

Yes. Ask about Individual Formation or Executive Formation. Kevin will discuss a suitable focus, rhythm, and scope with you.

How do I begin?

Start with an introductory conversation. We will hear what interests you, answer your questions, and consider together whether the experience is a good fit. An inquiry does not enroll you.
